Second seed Novak Djokovic retained his Dubai Championship title following his three-set victory over Russia's Mikhail Youzhny. The final resumed on Sunday with Djokovic holding the upper hand after rain had caused the match to be abandoned due to a rainstorm with the Serb leading 7-5, 2-0.

When back on court it looked as though the rain break was working in Youzhny's favour as he took control early on. He broke to take a 5-4 lead. Djokovic was clearly frustrated by the drop in his form - smashing his racket on court. That didn't seem to help matters as his Russian went on to take the second set by seven games to five - leveling the match at a set all.

Djokovic began to recover from his shaky start and the decisive break came in the eighth game - giving the Serb a 5-3 lead. He was able to hold serve in the following game to take the set 6-3 and with it the match - meaning Djokovic was able to celebrate retaining his title, and his first win of 2010.
