Haiti reunion work faces challanges

2010-04-02 13:19 BJT

Special Report: Strong Quake Hits Haiti |

Since Haiti's devastating earthquake in January, five international aid groups have been working to trace children living in orphanages or homeless camps, and return them to their families.

Stranded since the earthquake, 9-year-old Ana toes the dusty concrete outside her orphanage. She tells a social worker she wants to go back to live with her half-sister. But her sister can't afford to take her back.

Some younger children are unable to give phone numbers or details of their families, making the reunion work painfully slow.
