The total project runs for about 50 kilometers. The main section will span nearly 30-kilometers. As a six-lane expressway, it will accommodate vehicle speeds of up to 100-kilometers per hour. And the project is expected to be completed in 2016. It will include a main bridge section, with additional links connecting to the airport and city centers.

Construction costs are estimated at more than 72-billion-yuan, or ten-billion-US-dollars. Officials say the project will create more travel opportunities and promote Macao's tourism.
