Construction of a bridge linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao is due to start. Bridge will start in the middle of the month. The 29-kilometer facility is expected to promote stronger economic ties between Hong Kong and the west bank of the Pearl River Delta.

The entire bridge will comprise a series of smaller bridges and tunnels, with construction costing more than 10 billion US dollars in total.

Upon completion, the bridge will serve as a vital part of a comprehensive transportation system in the region, which will also involve the building of a highway network in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
