China is against the sale of US arms to Taiwan, saying the move undermines China-US relations. The transaction announced by the US defense department, allows a US arms company to sell advanced Patriot air defense missiles to Taiwan.
For the second time in two days China voiced its opposition against the issue which it claims is at the country's core national interests.
Jiang Yu, Spokeswoman of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said, "Our stance of firmly opposing U.S. arms sales to Taiwan has been consistent and clear. We have already made stern representations to the U.S., we urge the U.S. to clearly recognize the serious harm arms sales to Taiwan has."

China reaffirms opposition to U.S. arms sales to Taiwan
BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- China reiterated Wednesday its firm opposition to United States arms sales to Taiwan.
"We strongly oppose U.S. arms sales to Taiwan and our stance is consistent, clear and resolute," Yang Yi, spokesman of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, told reporters here. Full story >>
