Beijing housing fair closes

2010-04-12 14:23 BJT

The four-day Beijing Housing Fair closed on Sunday. Although housing prices continue to surge in Beijing, people are still rushing to buy. More than 140-thousand visitors attended the fair. 12-hundred apartments were sold for a total of 2-billion Yuan, which is a record high. Organizers say the most popular apartments are below 90 square meters, with average price tags between 2 and 4 million yuan. Most buyers purchased for themselves. Houses in suburb areas like Tongzhou, Yizhuang and Daxing sold well. Organizers say the rising transaction volume suggests buyers' incomes are increasing.
