Zero carbon emissions at Expo Park

The Shanghai World Expo is approaching. we'd like to present a special story about advanced technology adopted for the expo.

This looks like an ordinary SUV for police use. But it is by no means ordinary. It is a zero-emissions Fuel Cell car, which eats hydrogen and discharges water. Wu Chengjian, Technical Office, Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said, Our target for the expo park is "zero emissions". Therefore, we'll use a large number of new-energy vehicles, including electric vehicles, super-capacitor vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and even fuel cell vehicles. Large-scale application of these green vehicles will still have technical obstacles, such as cost and hydrogen stations. But it's feasible to use them in a situation like the expo park.

The 2010 expo park will serve as a demonstration for the transportation revolution, boasting more than 1000 zero-emission vehicles. The Expo park also have Green Houses, like this one: the EcoPlaza. Located in the former Nanshi Power Plant, EcoPlaza is a four-story building that covers a construction area of 3,000 square meters. It is one of the expo's four pilot housing projects, advocating saving energy and environmental protection, in which wind is a crucial natural resource.
