The Central Economic Work Conference ends Monday in Beijing after setting main aims for macro policies in the year ahead.
A communique outlining policies and measures reached at the conference will be released later in the day. A major focus is likely to be fine-tuning economic policies while continuing to push ahead with the stimulus package launched late last year.
Chief economist of the National Bureau of Statistics, Yao Jingyuan, says the country is likely to achieve the targeted 8 percent in economic growth this year. But he's warning of two major problems next year these are continued weakness in overseas demand and a corresponding weakness in driving forces on the domestic market.
