Cross-strait flighst could rise for Spring Festival

2009-12-02 10:58 BJT

It's two months to go to the Spring Festival holiday, but you could find it very difficult to get airplane tickets over that period to travel between Taiwan island and the Chinese Mainland.

Sources say reservations can be made a full year ahead of actual travel and that there's heavy demand from Taiwan business people working on the Mainland who want to return home for the season.

According to media reports in Taiwan, the island's civil aviation regulator plans to work with its mainland counterpart to examine the needs of different carriers and provide more flights over the Spring Festival.
