The Hong Kong tourism sector says Shanghai's Disneyland announcement will not impact its attraction for mainland and overseas visitors. Representatives add that the SAR venue has various advantages.

Hong Kong's tourism industry says the city has multiple tourist attractions. It also enjoys the reputation of being a shopping paradise. Mainland and overseas travelers will not give up the idea of visiting Hong Kong because of Shanghai's Disneyland plan. Even for mainland tourists, the Hong Kong and Shanghai parks would target people from different areas.

Hong Kong mainly attracts residents of South China while Shanghai would go after visitors from North and East China. Hong Kong Disneyland says it's focusing on an expansion plan that was announced in July, and hopes to start construction as soon as possible.
