Mogherini and Yang are co-chairing the seventh EU-China Strategic Dialogue, which runs until Thursday. Reports say both sides are eager to promote a message of free trade and open engagement with the world. Climate change, regional and security issues are also up for discussion.
The Dialogue aims to lay the groundwork for the 19th EU-China Summit in Brussels scheduled for June. Mogherini says cooperation between the EU and China has never been so important, at a time when the future of multilateral global governance is in doubt.
The EU foreign policy chief says it will be another opportunity to deepen not only bilateral cooperation, but also common work for a more cooperative global order.
