The National Museum of China will play host to a major exhibition on world history. Entitled, "A History of the World in 100 objects," it is organized in partnership with the British Museum in London. The first batch of items to go on display have now arrived in Beijing.
The first batch of cultural relics for the exhibition... "British Museum-A History of the World in 100 objects"... arrived in Beijing on Wednesday.
The objects were carefully selected from a collection of some 8 million items from the British Museum. The exhibition's name only says 100 objects. But in reality there will be more than 200 relics on display.
"The global exhibition, which was planned by the British Museum, wants to showcase objects that can tell us how the world has developed through the perspective of global history," said Yan Zhi, National Museum of China.
The exhibition will be held in the National Museum and will be open from March 1st to the end of May.
