The newly opened Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock-Connect closed higher on Tuesday in its second day of operations. The market opened at 1121.78, slightly higher than the first day's close of 1120.05.
The index hit its highest point at of 1125.65 a few minutes after the opening bell. The index then experienced down and up trading throughout the rest of the session and closed at 1120.84.
The total trading volume reached about 146.67 billion yuan, or 21.3 billion U.S. dollars. That was much improved from the first day's 3.5 billion yuan.
