The US military has updated the number of civilians its coalition has killed in its bid to defeat the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria. It reported that as many as 54 civilians died from its airstrikes between March 31st and October 22nd of this year, bringing the total number since its campaign began in 2014 to 173. This number, however, is significantly lower than estimates from other groups.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that at least 56 civilians have been killed in air strikes north of the Syrian city of Manbij alone! And in October, Amnesty International said as many as 300 civilians were killed in 11 coalition attacks.
