Economic ties between Hungary and China are growing strong. This year, the two nations enjoyed frequent high-level visits, business exchanges, and cooperation in a number of sectors.

Hungary is an active member of the "16+1" mechanism -- an economic cooperation platform between 16 central and eastern European nations and China. China and Hungary have strengthened economic ties in a number of fields, including: finance, agriculture, tourism, and education.

In 2015, Hungary exported nearly US$ 3 billion worth of goods to China. Chinese and European enterprises have also signed cooperation agreements worth around US$ 2 billion. The world's second largest economy has invested more than US$ 3 billion in Hungary, and is Hungary's largest trading partner.
