Nico Rosberg has a 12-point advantage over teammate and reigning world champ Lewis Hamilton in the standings. A victory by the German seals his maiden title, anything less than a podium finish opens the door for the Briton, who has been on fire recently claiming the last three races.
So how can Hamilton still claim the title -- well this is the scenario. If he wins the race, he must hope that Rosberg finishes fourth or lower. If the Brit is second, then the German has to place seventh or lower. If reigning world champ takes third place, than Rosberg must be in ninth or lower for him to retain his title.
And in case the pair finish tied in points, Hamilton has the tie-breaker based on more third place finishes.
