President Xi Jinping has published a signed article in the Ecuadorian newspaper El Telegrafo. It is titled "Build A New Bridge of China-Ecuador Friendship and Cooperation". The president says China and Ecuador share a close bond of friendship despite the long geographical distance.

China will take an active part in post-disaster reconstruction and help people get their lives back to normal. With trade ties continuing to grow rapidly, he says China looks forward to having more local specialties and high value-added products from Ecuador in the Chinese market. President Xi also called for closer ties in people to people and cultural exchanges, and high tech cooperation.
