At the Paris Masters, Novak Djokovic has won the event three-straight years, and needs to make it 4-in-a-row if he wants to hold onto the world number one ranking. If the Serb falters at any point before the final, he can be usurped by Andy Murray for the top spot in men's tennis. And Djoker would get a massive scare from Grigor Dimitrov as he looks to hold onto that ranking.

The Bulgarian in the near court would break Nole in the opening set -- and continues to keep the pressure on the Serb -- chasing down this volley, as he takes the opener 6-4.

Djokovic rebounded by winning the second set 6-2, and is in control in the third, wrong-footing his opponent as he races out to a 3-0 lead.

The Serb then seals things when Dimitrov hits a forehand return into the net. The World number one moves into the quarter-finals where he will meet ninth seed Marin Cilic.

MURRAY COASTS PAST POUILLE 6-3, 6-0

Second seed Andy Murray had an easier time of things against 13th seed and local favourite Lucas Pouille. The Scot getting the lunging forehand volley at the net. He has a poppy on his shirt.

Murray would be able to claim the first frame 6-3, thanks to wicked forehand passing shots like this.

The second seed rolls to an easy victory, taking the second frame at love -- sealing things with a service winner, and remains in contention to unseat Novak Djokovic as world number one.

In other matches, Canada's Milos Raonic took down Pablo Cuevas in three sets, Croatia's Martin Cilic saw off David Goffin in straight sets. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was able to get past Japan's Kei Nishikori. The Frenchman coming from a set down.
