Thiem led 5-0 in the second set before allowing Federer to pull even by winning five straight games and this volley gives him match point at 6-5 in the tiebreaker.
But Roger would waste two chances to put it away and Thiem now has set point himself and he takes it with the smash and the crowd appreciates his fight back.
The match would be interrupted for 30 minutes twice by rain, the second delay coming right after Thiem broke for 4-3. And the Austrian is going to win the frame 6-4 when Federer goes wide, sealing a huge upset victory for the young Austrian.
