A spokesman of the Al-Alami faction of the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi says the faction cooperated with Islamic State in Monday's attack on a police college. The confirmation of a link between the two groups will stoke fears that Islamic State, based in Syria and Iraq, is building a presence in Pakistan.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on a Pakistani police academy near Quetta in Balochistan.  At least 63 people were killed, and more than 100 wounded. Most of the victims were police cadets. Balochistan has been observing three days of mourning which end today.
