Pakistani troops have sealed the headquarters of the political party MQM in Karachi, arresting a number of leaders and lawmakers. The raid followed an attack on TV stations in Karachi by MQM protesters.

That resulted in clashes with police that left one person dead and eight others wounded. The protesters accused the media of failing to cover a hunger strike protesting the recent arrest of party members.
