The World Robot Conference begins in Beijing today, with more than 150 renowned robot making companies unveiling their latest products, or humandroids.
Thirteen robot industry associations from countries such as the U.S., Germany, Japan, and Russia are attending the event. There will be six robot competitions in such areas as football, water activities, and drones, drawing some 500 teams from more than 10 countries. There are dancing robots, and droids that can speak and even do stand-up comedy.
Compared to last year, these robots have shown a big improvement in understanding human language and recognizing human faces.
