Full coverage: China Tiangong-2 Space Lab Launch
China's space program is set to launch its manned spacecraft the Shenzhou-11. Today authorities revealed the identities of the two astronauts that will be sent to space.
Wu Ping, Deputy director of China's manned space engineering office, announced that Major General Jing Haipeng and Colonel Chen Dong will carry out the mission. Jing will be the commander of the mission, with this journey being his third manned mission. The two met with the press at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
The Shenzhou-11 spacecraft will send the two men to the Tiangong-2 space lab, about 400 kilometers above the earth. Later we will bring you more on the manned mission, but now to the Indian state of Goa, where this year's 2016 BRICS Summit is taking place.
