Reports are just coming in of an earthquake in western Japan. Multiple people reportedly have been injured in the earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6.
The main tremor was recorded at 14:07 local time and centered in the central part of Tottori prefecture. An aftershock with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 came about 20 minutes later. Another aftershock with a magnitude of 4.3 hit the area three minutes after that.
Power is out in 32,000 households in Tottori. So far, no tsunami warning has been issued. Switched-off nuclear reactors in the region were not affected.
