BRICS countries have lauded President Xi Jinping's speech at the Goa Summit, saying that China together with other BRICS countries will inject more vigor and vitality to the world's economy.
For more on the just-concluded summit, CCTV spoke with Professor Varaprasad Sekhar Dolla, from the Centre for East Asian Studies, at the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and Roberto Jaguaribe, president of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency. He's also a former Brazilian ambassador to China.
"President Xi Jinping remarks at the BRICS Summit in Goa, indicate some of very key issues, particularly in terms of funding collective and inclusive solutions. for their problems that the world has been coping with. And he highlighted the importance of open world economy. Well the countries must not resolve to extreme from of economic nationalism. But try to open up their economies for further investment," Professor Varaprasad Sekhar Dolla said.
"I think China's transformation is necessary. China's transformation includes a lot of facets, especially in environmental protection. China has its plans to curb pollution, which is quite crucial. We are quite optimistic that China will overcome all its difficulties and develop its economy at relatively rapid speed in a sustainable way," Jaguaribe said.
