The Xiangshan Forum, discussing better military cooperation in Asia, has wrapped up in Beijing. Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan says cooperation is needed to maintain both regional and global peace and stability. He added that some nations are now sacrificing other nations' security to pursue their own.
Chang also says China is promoting a new concept in international security. Defense officials from New Zealand, Russia and Australia called for security cooperation in the Asia Pacific region. Representatives from 59 countries and six international organizations attended the three-day forum.
