Samsung has ordered to halt the sales and exchanges of its problematic Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The South Korean tech giant has also advised customers to stop usage.

The United States and Australia already suspended the sales or exchanges of the smartphone on Monday. Major airlines reiterated bans on passengers using the phones, after smoke from a replacement device forced the evacuation of a passenger plane in the US last week. 2.5 million Note Sevens have been recalled since initial reports of fires due to faulty batteries.

And the latest reports of fires in replacement devices is raising fresh doubts about the firm's quality control procedures.
