South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics has said it is delaying the sale of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in its home market, as it needs more time to complete the ongoing recall in the country. Only about 200-thousand customers have returned their devices there, and this is much slower than in Singapore and the US.
The firm said customers may not be able to exchange their devices via domestic carriers when sales resume on October 1st. Samsung had asked affected customers to turn off their phones to prevent damage, in response to continued reports of fires, as well as bans from some aviation authorities.
