With all this traffic, police and workers at places of interest across the country are geared up to handle the influx of tourists.
In the central city of Wuhan, police are warning of a huge traffic jam at the Wuhan Yangtze River bridge, a major road connecting three populated districts. The famous historical site, Yellow Crane Tower, sits near the bridge.
500 kilometers to the east, the popular Huangshan Mountain is expecting millions of tourists. But authorities say only 50-thousand people will be allowed into the mountain area every day. This is to protect both the environment and people, as many paths run next to steep cliffs.
In northeastern China's Changbai Mountain, large numbers of tourists are hoping to see the volcanic lake. Authorities are admitting fewer than 40-thousand people a day there.
