Aid deliveries have resumed in Syria. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said a convoy has reached the besieged town of Moadamiyeh in the capital's suburbs. It included food, medical supplies,  water and sanitation.

Spokesman for the office, Stephane Dujarric, said the resumption was based on the humanitarian imperative to stay and deliver aid even in the most difficult circumstances, although assurances of safe passage were required.

He added the convoys will be undertaken on a case by case basis, and that included aid deliveries to the devastated northern city of Aleppo.
