Team North America fell to Russia in their second game at the World Cup. The squad is made up of players from the U-S and Canada that are 23-and-under. Most are considered future stars, and the captain of the team -- Connor McDavid is thought to be the next big thing on ice.

Team North America, comprised of the best young players in the game has quickly become the toast of the World Cup of Hockey. And their captain tagged as "the next one" Connor McDavid is front and center as the kids look to prove to the hockey world they are more than just alright.

"It's a good opporunity for this team and myself personally to make a name for ourselves and put a real statement on what the future may hold for us. So, we've got a good opportunity ahead of us," said Connor McDavid, Team North America captain.

From the time he was a young teenager, McDavid has been in the spotlight the prodigy, now proving to be the real deal. And even the most experienced hockey minds, like a three-time Stanley Cup winning General Manager knows...there's something a little different about 97.

Pressure is nothing new for McDavid, but wearing the C at a tournament like this.is. The young star seems to embrace the moment but the team has been careful to not put too much on his shoulders alone.

"We've had a leadership group that we've leaned on throughout the process, we meet with them often...find out how the teams feeling...and everything else," said Todd Mclellan, Team North America head coach.

"Everyone can feel comforatble in the room..say what they need...no older guys...intimidating..us being so young, everyone has a voice," said Connor Mcdavid, Team North America captain.

And right now, that young group should be simply content with letting their play do the talking. An incredibly impressive opening win against Finland followed up by against a Russian team with their backs against the wall has showcased the audacity these younguns have. Playing fast, loose and seemingly with house money.

"We're not really feeling too much pressure. No one's expecting us really...to win. We believe in ourselves though," Connor said.
