Voting is now underway for Russia's 7th State Duma election. Russia's main news agency has reported that more than 94,000 polling stations have opened on polling day.
This includes stations in closed territories such as military garrisons, prisons and hospitals. Another 371 polling locations are open outside of Russia in nearly 150 countries.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is voting, as a total of 14 political parties and 23 self-nominees in single-member constituencies are participating in the election. The right to vote belongs to more than 110 million Russian citizens.
At the same time, all 85 Russian regions are holding more than 5,300 elections at different levels of government. There will also be a new Russian Federation Council, the parliament's upper house, after today's polling.
