A moonlit night in the fairyland.

Cinderella, the Frog King, Little Red Riding Hood, the Tortoise and the Hare…...these lanterns depict some of the world's most popular fairy-tales and whether you're young or old, you can't help but be captivated in this glowing fantasy world... A traditional symbol of fertility, the lantern is seen as a central element of the festival’s visual representation. Every mid-autumn festival, Victoria Park lights up in a spectrum of colour. Familes come in their droves to witness the spectacle, as well as the other attractions.

"We came from Shanghai. The lantern display here is very attractive. My son is so excited. We're having a wonderful mid-autumn night in Hong Kong," said a tourist.

But it isn't just the lanterns lighting up the festival, there are also spectacular fire dragon dances.

A 67-meter fire dragon winds through the streets of Tai Hang, with more than 300 performers, 70,000 incense sticks, and a host of firecrackers in tow.

Now we can see a huge dragon wending its way through fire and smoke down the streets of Hong Kong - drawing the attention of hundreds of thousands of residents. People here believe that the dragon can dispel bad luck and bring them health and joy.

Legend has it that during the 19th century villagers used the dance to halt a series of unfortunate events such as pestilence and typhoons.

The people believe that the dragon can bring good fortune, which is why the streets were so crowded...

"It’s very interesting. It’s kind of activity that only happens in Hong Kong. You can’t see anywhere around the world. If possible, I come every year," said a local resident.

"I hear it’s really beautiful and very famous in Hong Kong, so that’s why we wanna come," said a tourist.

Others like to get out of the city and hit the beach during the holiday.

With the overcast weather, it's difficult to see the full moon this year, which has disappointed many. However, when friends and family can enjoy their traditional mooncakes together, they will feel all is not lost
