China hopes Australia will provide a fair and transparent environment for foreign investors, according to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On Sunday at the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Xi met Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for the first time since Canberra blocked a major deal.
Australia last month stopped a U.S.$7.6 billion sale of the country’s biggest energy grid to Chinese bidders, citing security concerns.
Xi also said building this fair, transparent environment “accords with Australia’s own interests.”
