At the ongoing 5th Minorities Art Festival of China, a dance show "Arirang Flower" features the unique culture of a Korean ethnic group.
The show has taken bold steps to blend modern symphony music with traditional folk music of the Korean ethnic minority.
Korean folk dances in this show emphasize interpretation and sensitivity, with a more exquisite sense of emotion.
China's Korean ethnic minority has its own culture complete with folk customs, songs and dances, and sports.
And this dance troupe from Jilin is doing its best to keep the culture alive among the young.
"The four colors used in this dance piece actually represent the artist's life, from childhood all the way to her senior days. So the audience sees her passion for dancing, and her desire to dance on a bigger stage," said Meng Zhexue, choreographer.
Thirty five representatives from across the country will participate in the festival, which began in the 16th of August and runs to the 14th of September.
