This troupe from northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has carefully crafted the performance to exhibit the unique culture of their ethnic group.

According to organizers, the show took the cast and crew more than half a year to prepare. The songs feature traditional singing of the Hui ethnic group, and the dances are elaborately choreographed.

The show integrates traditional music and contemporary dance performances that are unique to the Hui ethnic group, and thus creates a conversation between ancient civilization and modernity.

"The show fully exhibit the style of the Hui ethnic group in the country. We not only inherit and pass on the traditional dance language and Muslim culture, but also absorbed the local culture. It's a total integration," said Wu Qingdong, show director.

"I'm quite stunned, really. Their choreography, music, and the artists' interpretation are particularly good," one audience said.

Thirty five representatives from across the country will participate in the festival, which will run from August 16th to September 14.
