The Rio Paralympic Games will commence September 7, and China will be sending its largest ever delegation to the event—308 athletes. And before the squad makes its way to Brazil, it held a conference in Beijing.
PRC to send 308 athletes to Paralympics Games which start Sept. 7
The meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People. During the symposium, the team showed its pride as it sang the national anthem.
Including coaches and officials, the Chinese delegation will consist of 499 people. Almost a third of the squad are veterans when it comes to the Olympics, as they have competed before.
The delegation’s chief Zhang Haidi spoke to the team, asking them to show the Olympic spirit and to try their best.
