Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend a foreign ministers' meeting of China, Japan and South Korea in Japan. The exact date for the annual meeting is under discussion.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang says Wang's attendance of the regular trilateral meeting will not involve bilateral visit. Reiterating China's position on relations with Japan, Lu urged the Japanese side to do more to improve bilateral relations with China.

Japan is serving as host for the meeting, which is held on a rotating basis among the three nations.
