The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Hua Chunying, says senior diplomatic officials from the Ministry and ASEAN will attend a meeting about the South China Sea issue in Inner Mongolia.

She says the Chinese side and the ASEAN members will continue with their discussion on the issue and will move forward on negotiating the code of conduct in the South China Sea. The spokesperson added that the G20 Hangzhou Summit in September and the BRICS Summit in October will be key points on the agenda for Foreign Minister Wang Yi's upcoming visit to India.
