Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Russia and is expected to shortly meet with president Vladimir Putin. He expects his visit to open "a new page" in bilateral relations.
Erdogan's visit to Putin's hometown of Saint Petersburg is also his first foreign trip since the failed military coup last month. The talks intend to end a period of high tension amid the two countries. Relations were strained last November when Turkey downed a Russian jet near the Syrian border.
