The Rio Olympic opening ceremony is two days away, and although the details of the gala is unknown, Brazilian football legend Pele has said he would like to light the cauldron.
And in a few hours from now, a ceremony will be held to raise the Chinese flag at the Olympic Village. The country is sending its largest ever contingent to an Olympiad on foreign soil as 416 athletes will compete in 26 sports.
The flag-raising ceremony will be held at 9:30 am local time on Wednesday, which is 8:30 pm in Beijing.
A group of local dancers will perform at the beginning, focusing on the history and culture of Brazil. Then the Olympic Village Mayor, Janeth Arcain will make a welcoming speech before the Olympic flag and several national banners are raised.
The ceremony will last for about half hour.
