Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro has named the country's former head of the National Guard as the new Interior Minister. Nestor Reverol's appointment comes a day after a US court in New York indicted him and another official of taking bribes in exchange for tipping off drug traffickers about raids and drug busts.
Reverol has denied the accusations. Previously, Reverol "broke the record for arrests of drug kingpins" and Venezuela's President claims that the US indictment is "payback", referring to the DEA and US drug mafia.
