Typhoon Nida has severely affected travel services in southern cities and Hong Kong.
Guangzhou Railway Corporation is advising passengers that all trains departing from Guangdong today would be cancelled. More than 220 flights at Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai airports were cancelled ahead of the storm.
Hong Kong raised a "T8" storm signal -- the third-highest -- on Monday evening. Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary Dragonair cancelled more than 100 flights to and from of Hong Kong until 2 PM local time today.
