The World Trade Organization has completed a three-day review of China's trade policy in Geneva.

Nearly 2,000 written questions were submitted by 59 WTO members. There were many topics in the review, including non-tariff barriers to trade, investment policies and issues of overcapacity.

"It sets a new record with the largest number of questions raised by WTO members. This serves as an opportunity for us to respond, clarify and explain all issues that were raised," said Wang Shouwen, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce.

"The idea is to cooperate among all governments with a view to addressing some of the global challenges. During the meeting, the issue of overcapacity was raised, but with the full understanding that this is a global problem, not only one country can solve this problem, but it has to be a common effort to address these challenges," said Willy Alfaro, Director of WTO Trade Policies Review Division.
