Premier Li Keqiang has called on Japan to stop hyping up and interfering in the South China Sea issue.

Li made the remarks in a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Meeting. He also urged both sides to step up exchanges on the East China Sea issue through a dialogue based on the four-point principled agreement in 2014.
