France has announced the temporary closure of its diplomatic missions in Turkey, citing security reasons.
Its missions will remain shut until further notice, according to statements from the French Embassy in Ankara and the consulate-general in Istanbul. French National Day receptions in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir were also cancelled.
Turkey has been rocked by a series of suicide bomb attacks in the past year. A triple bomb and gunfire attack at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport killed 44 people last month.
