The United States has condemned the attack at Ataturk airport in Istanbul. In a statement, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the U.S. will firmly support Turkey and spare no efforts to confront the threat of terrorism, along with their allies.
Earnest said the airport is a symbol of international connections, and the ties that bind people together.
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department spokesman Mark Toner said such attacks will only reinforce America’s determination to work with the Turkish government to counter terrorism and to support all those across the region working to promote peace and reconciliation.
