The United Nation has clarified its relationship with the arbitration tribunal on its social media account. It says on weibo that it has been the tenant of the Peace Palace since 1899 and has nothing to do with the United Nation.

The Peace Palace in The Hague was built in 1913 with funds from a donation made by celebrated steel magnate and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

The International Court of Justice is the principal judicial organ of the UN. The Court has had its seat in the Peace Palace in The Hague since 1946.
