South Korea's Yonhap News agency has reported the DPRK has fired a ballistic missile from a submarine. South Korea's military said the missile was launched at about 11:30 a.m. local time in waters east of the Korean peninsula.

The DPRK's move comes a day after the US and South Korea jointly announced plans to deploy the THAAD missile defense system in the Korean peninsula.
