Government spokesman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or DPRK said that the country will strive for peninsula denuclearization, if the US and its ally South Korea guarantee its security.

The spokesman raised five security requirements on Wednesday. These include the total unveiling and removal of US nuclear weapons bases, stockpiles and forces in South Korea. And a condition to never pursue nuclear strikes in and around the Korean Peninsula.

On the same day, the US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on DPRK's leader Kim Jong Un, and other designated top officials, citing "notorious abuses of human rights". The treasury also sanctioned ten other individuals and five entities for their ties to DPRK's alleged abuse of human rights. As a result, any property or interest in assets of those sanctioned within the US jurisdiction is frozen.
